“Real estate is not my job; it is my life! My clients become my friends and family. My clients raise their families in the homes I sell them. The homes I sell become the backdrop to the memories of their lives.” These are the words of Glennda Baker LeBlanc, a real estate guru who has shaken the real estate industry for two and a half decades.

When the single mama chose to quit her drinking behaviors, she became a rising star in her business. Not even her “little” academics could stop her from reaching and living her dreams. The guru has continued to build a brand that she can weave in with her real estate business and has slowly transitioned her business into a lifestyle brand.

Life In The Early Days

Glennda was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, before she left to live in Atlanta, Georgia. All she knew was drinking, and she did not like school. Her fellow students always made fun of her and ridiculed her way of talking and walking.

This kind of mockery ended up with Glennda getting bullied often. She began missing school in her senior year due to frustration and even endangered her graduation.

When Marriage Failed

Glennda eventually got married. She had a vision that things would work in her marriage. However, this wasn’t the case — as it is with thousands of couples. It just happened! Her husband filed a suit against her and sued her for custody and alimony. That meant that it was over with marriage!

Glennda moved on with life but later found another husband. They had children, but again the marriage did not last. After her second had left, this became a very painful time for Glennd. She was left with $44 in her bank account to raise her two kids.

A flicker Of Hope: Things Change

Drinking had taken the better side of Glennda. Many times she had tried to cut back and stopped drinking, but these thoughts kept coming back. “Just drink two glasses only.” “Why can’t you drink this weekend alone.” Since her young age, through marriage and now divorce, drinking had become part of her lifestyle. One day on Saturday, in 1996, Glennda excessively drank to the extent that she wasn’t sure whether she would ever wake up. But waking up the following day, which was a Sunday, Glennda never felt again the urge to drink. She didn’t seek treatment, neither did she go for therapy but through a phenomenon that she likens it to an invasion of the body snatchers she stopped drinking and to this day, Glennda never drinks.

After her divorce, Glennda signed up for her broker’s class and started her own real estate company out of her home.

Glennda’s Success

Today Glennda is the founder and CEO of Glennda Baker & Associates. She has been able to be top ½ of the top 1% of REALTORS globally.
